"Orbital Reef will be providing the essential infrastructure needed for scaling up the economic activity and for creating opportunities for new markets to emerge in the space," the company adds.
Blue Origin wants to send the space modules with its New Glenn rocket, which itself is still within the development process.
Meanwhile, the company works with Sierra Space, which focuses on producing technology suited for space environments. This company will be responsible for developing the housing system of the Orbital Reef, which will have three floors, beds, a kitchen and a botanic garden specially designed for space.
