It was followed by London Heathrow Airport with 1,104 daily arrivals and departures, and Paris Charles de Gaulle with 1,046 in the same period, Eurocontrol data showed.
London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle reached 91% and 87% of their pre-pandemic level, respectively.
The flight traffic throughout Europe in January remained at 86% of its 2019 level, but a wide variety of recovery rate variations remained, Eurocontrol said.
The UK was the busiest country with 4,022 average daily flights.
Germany was the second-busiest with 3,327 daily flights and Spain the third with 3,312.
Among the top 10 airlines, only two major carriers (Lufthansa and easyJet) operated below their pre-virus level, both at 64%.
Ryanair was the top airline with 2,169 daily flights, 113% of 2019, and Turkish Airlines was ranked second with 1,274 daily flights, 100% of 2019. The third-largest average daily flights were carried out by Lufthansa (892 daily flights, 64% of 2019).
