Russia's annual GDP rate rose by 3.6 percent in 2023, according to estimates published Wednesday by the government statistics agency Rosstat, showing signs of the sanctions-hit economy rebounding.
In 2022, Russia's gross domestic product contracted by 1.2 percent after Western countries imposed a barrage of sanctions on Russia for its offensive in Ukraine.
