Search and clearance operations continue in the tunnels surrounding the town of Manbij, which was freed from PKK/YPG occupation.
Near the Karakozak Bridge in the east of Manbij, massive tunnels dug through mountains and hills by the terrorist group have been uncovered.
One notable tunnel is wide enough to fit a truck, and markings on the interior wall show a height of 7 meters.
Some branches of the tunnels extend about 5 kilometers, with wide paths allowing vehicles to move freely.
These tunnels appear to have been designed for hiding vehicles and providing access to areas under PKK/YPG control.
The tunnels, which include rebar at their entrances and concrete walls inside, also feature deep pits nearby, which are thought to be used for pedestrian access or ventilation.
The Free Dawn Operation, launched in December, first liberated the town center of Tel Rifaat from the PKK/YPG.
