"Not only Muslims, but all residents of Russia closely followed the elections in Türkiye. In our prayers, we wished for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a friend of Russian Muslims, a friend of Russia, and a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to be elected as the president. Thanks to God, our prayers were heard and accepted," said Gaynutdin in a statement.
Reminding that Erdoğan and Putin jointly inaugurated the Moscow Central Mosque in 2015, Gaynutdin added, "It has been 8 years since then. Mr. Erdoğan visits Russia frequently. We would be delighted and sincerely grateful if Erdoğan could come to the Moscow Mosque during his visit to Russia and pray with the Muslims of Russia. On behalf of the 25 million Muslims in Russia, we invite him and express our desire to see him."
