At the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Test Center in Kalecik, during the test, 2 Cloud Underwater Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (BAHA), 2 Unmanned Ground Vehicles (BARKAN), and a swarm of 5 drones worked together as a team in accordance with a predefined scenario, sharing tasks and successfully completing their assigned missions.
Mehmet Akif Nacar, the CEO of HAVELSAN, stated that they have been progressively realizing their roadmap for swarm unmanned vehicles through a Research and Development project that started in 2020.
He explained that their work began with the Unmanned Ground Vehicle BARKAN, which they made capable of autonomous operations. Later, they started working on cloud-under unmanned systems and developed BAHA.
Nacar explained that they conducted research to apply swarm intelligence autonomously with these vehicles and compatible drones, and they have now achieved a capability where these vehicles can take off together, perform missions in various formations, and work together.
Nacar mentioned that they are gradually reaping the rewards of their efforts, having exported BAHA and delivered BARKAN to the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces.
