A group of designers from Sony wanted to depict Tokyo in the future, in 2050, collaborating with science-fiction writers, which resulted in fairly interesting concepts.
Among these concepts, one called 'Habitat, 2050' includes 'climate refugees', which indicates people affected from climate change. According to designers of the concept, these people would have floating houses, which would make them sea nomads.
With these homes it would be possible to travel through the sea, although it would generally depend on several factors like meteorological conditions and tides.
Floating houses would have a motor, a sail and stabilizers, along with a foldable ceiling that can be positioned in the right way to survive a possible storm.
It would be also possible to change its position to use it as a propulsion while sailing.
