The Airforce has already carried out several test flights of the Velis Electro and so far everything seems to function as it is expected. Having said that, the aircrafts will have the task of studying the technology for the next two years.
The idea of the officials is to investigate the technology of electric planes in real circumstances and to discover the kinds of things it could be used and the limitations of this technology.
"These aircrafts won't replace the ones that we already have", explains the Denmark Airforce. "The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain acknowledgment and experience with the technology and its features, thus being prepared for the moment in which the green technology becomes a real alternative."
Denmark will be the first country to adopt electric flying vehicles technology, an area that received important investment and progress in recent years, particularly in aircrafts as much as in flying taxis. In any case, it seems unlikely that the combat aircrafts currently in use will be getting replaced anytime soon.
