Chinese President Xi Jinping called on the 11-member BRICS group of nations to "reject all forms of protectionism", state media said, less than two weeks before his expected visit to Washington, a major trade rival of Beijing.
"We should support the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core and reject all forms of protectionism," Xi said at a BRICS summit in New Delhi, Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported.
