North Korea has condemned the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran in its "strongest" terms, calling the strikes an "illegal act of aggression."
"Israel's military attack on Iran, launched under the US active support and patronage, and the military action of the US which joined in it are an illegal act of aggression and the most despicable form of violation of sovereignty," the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Pyongyang accused Washington and Tel Aviv of placing its domestic law above international law and abusing military force to pursue "selfish and hegemonic ambition." It said US actions were destroying "global peace and stability."
"The war of aggression by the US and Israel, which can never be justified with anything, can never be tolerated in any case," the ministry said.
The joint US-Israeli military campaign launched Saturday has killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries. Three US service members have been killed and five seriously wounded.
