Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced Saturday that he will task Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot with forming the next government, Israeli news site Ynet reported.
Eisenkot has been invited to receive the mandate at a ceremony at the President's Residence on Sunday at 5 pm local time (1500GMT), according to the report.
Once he receives the mandate, Eisenkot will have 28 days to form a government. Herzog can grant an extension of up to 14 days under Israel's Basic Law.
