Hamas' armed wing, Al Qassam Brigades, claimed to have targeted a location in the central Gaza Strip where they alleged "60 Israeli soldiers were positioned." They reported placing and detonating three anti-personnel explosives at the site, east of the Juhor ad-Dik region, and stated that they also aimed at Israeli soldiers who survived the explosions
