Currently, hydrocarbon exploration efforts in Türkiye are primarily focused on the Black Sea region, where the first phase of the project in the Sakarya Gas Field involved the drilling of 10 wells beneath the sea.
As the project progresses into its second phase, plans are underway to drill an additional 30 wells.
Alongside the naval energy fleet's drilling vessels, called Fatih, Yavuz, and Kanuni, numerous support vessels are actively involved in the project.
Meanwhile, seismic exploration activities in the Black Sea are ongoing without interruption. The Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa Seismic Research Ship is diligently collecting data as part of the Ünye-3D Project in the Black Sea.
In the Mediterranean, exploration efforts are also in full swing. The Abdülhamid Han Drilling Ship, following its initial mission in the Yörükler-1 well, has been conducting exploration and drilling operations near Taşucu-1 since December.
Notably, seismic research activities within the Belek-3D study in the Eastern Mediterranean are being conducted by the Oruç Reis research ship.
Furthermore, onshore oil exploration is actively pursued. Ongoing work is being carried out in the Martyr Aybüke Yalçın and Martyr Esma Çevik oil fields located in Şırnak.
