Venice, one of Italy's important tourist cities, is facing the risk of submergence. The historical city is gradually sinking as it struggles with pollution caused by tourists for a long time.
UNESCO initiated efforts for the city on the cultural heritage list. They recommended the city's inclusion in the "Endangered World Heritage List."
This year, among the other places recommended for inclusion in the Endangered World Heritage List are Ukraine's cities of Kiev and Lviv.
Ukraine's port city of Odessa, along with the archaeological sites in Yemen and Lebanon, are also among the recent additions to the Endangered World Heritage List.
