I confronted the soldier who had shot my cousin, and as a result, I was detained and subjected to mistreatment because of my actions.' Stating that her cousin was imprisoned, Tamimi explained, 'I confronted the soldier who had shot my cousin while he was in prison. They arrested me for this act, and I ended up serving an 8-month prison sentence.' Tamimi revealed that Israeli soldiers subjected her to torture and added, 'During that time, I was prevented from having any contact with my family and friends, or even talking to them.' Tamimi, who calls for an end to the Gaza Strip's humanitarian crisis, stands as one of the most prominent figures in the protests in the West Bank.
