Mehmet Bulut, the headman of Söğüt Mahallesi, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they saw 15-meter-deep fractures in the vineyards and forests in the region, and that the earthquake also damaged the roads.
Explaining that there is a 1 to 3 meter elevation difference in the areas where the surface fracture is located, Bulut said:
"There were cavities like potholes in some parts of our lands. It caused the structure of our fields to deteriorate. We lost a lot of life and there were destruction in two of our neighborhoods (Söğüt and Hacılar neighborhoods). Actually, survey work was carried out here. After 8-10 meters, it is complete rock, basalt stone."
