Several people killed in fire between Diyarbakır and Mardin

A stubble fire occurred yesterday evening in Köksalan Neighborhood of Çınar district in Diyarbakır and in Yazçiçeği village, as well as in Yücebağ and Yetkinler villages of Mazıdağı district in Mardin. Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that 11 people lost their lives and 78 people were affected by the fire. Koca reported that due to the fires in the villages on the border of Diyarbakır and Mardin, there are currently five patients in intensive care in Diyarbakır, four of whom are intubated. Additionally, one patient in Şanlıurfa is receiving treatment under intubation. Koca stated that due to the fires, 24 ambulances and 3 National Medical Rescue Teams (UMKE) were dispatched from Diyarbakır, and 15 ambulances and 4 UMKE teams from Mardin. He added that the fires have been extinguished by the relevant units, and cooling efforts are ongoing. Koca offered his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, praying for Allah's mercy upon them, and extended his best wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced on his social media account that a judicial investigation has been launched by the Çınar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the stubble fire that broke out and spread over a large area between Çınar in Diyarbakır and Mazıdağı in Mardin. Tunç offered his condolences, praying for Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the fire, and wished a swift recovery to the injured.
