Ramadan begins with first Tarawih prayers across Türkiye

The long-awaited month of Ramadan has arrived for the Islamic world. In mosques across the country, the first Tarawih prayer of the blessed month was held. In Istanbul, the first Tarawih prayer was performed at the Hagia Sophia Mosque with the arrival of Ramadan, the month of mercy and blessings. The first Tarawih prayer was also performed at Sultanahmet Mosque for the first time with a full recitation of the Quran. In Ankara, some citizens performed the first Tarawih prayer at the Hacı Bayram-ı Veli Mosque. In Trabzon, the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan was held at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Mosque in Bahçecik. In Kırşehir, citizens flocked to mosques to perform the first Tarawih prayer, including at Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Mosque. In Şanlıurfa, the residents of the city visited the Balıklıgöl complex and prayed near the site believed to be the birthplace of Prophet Ibrahim. After the Isha prayer, they performed the first Tarawih prayer at the Dergah Mosque and other mosques in the complex. In Ordu, the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan was performed at the Aziziye Mosque in Altınordu. In Hakkari, the first Tarawih prayer was held at Ulu Mosque. In Siirt, the residents of the city prayed the first Tarawih prayer at Ulu Mosque. In Mardin, the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan was held at Şakir Nuhoğlu Mosque in Artuklu district. In Kahramanmaraş, citizens performed the first Tarawih prayer at Abdulhamithan Mosque. In Niğde, residents performed the first Tarawih prayer at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Mosque. In Eskişehir, the first Tarawih prayer was held at the 8-century-old Ulu Mosque in Sivrihisar, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List and is one of the largest wooden columned mosques in Anatolia. In Diyarbakır, citizens performed the first Tarawih prayer at Ulu Mosque, which is considered the fifth Haram-ı Sharif of Islam. In Kayseri, the first Tarawih prayer was performed at the historical Hunat Mosque. In Tekirdağ, citizens prayed the Tarawih prayer at Rüstempaşa Mosque. In Aydın, the first Tarawih prayer of Ramadan was performed at Külliye Mosque in Efeler district.
