Local authority Bedri Aslaner said they were considering the possibility that the rifts might have formed on February 6.
Explaining that the depth was about 5 meters in the early days, Aslaner said, "Now it has reached 10-15 meters. Its length is 100-150 meters. The width is already in sight. It was not at this angle when we first saw it. It is getting wider with aftershocks."
Emphasizing that they were astonished by this sight as much as the earthquake, Aslaner added that the crevices reveal the extent of the disaster.
