After the earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 on February 6, the epicenter of which was in the districts of Pazarcık and Elbistan, a rift was formed in the rural Karagöz district of Kahramanmaraş.
The rift , which is 15 meters deep, 50 meters wide and 150 meters long, was viewed from the air.
Local authority Bedri Aslaner said they were considering the possibility that the rifts might have formed on February 6.
Explaining that the depth was about 5 meters in the early days, Aslaner said, "Now it has reached 10-15 meters. Its length is 100-150 meters. The width is already in sight. It was not at this angle when we first saw it. It is getting wider with aftershocks."
