A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the coast of southern Italy late Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake, recorded at a depth of 247 kilometers (153 miles), hit 38 kilometers (23 miles) away from Cosenza in the Calabria region.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage following the tremor.
