Turkish stock exchange begins midweek down
Türkiye’s BIST 100 index opened slightly lower Wednesday at 10,992.82 points, down 0.18%, as markets reacted to currency fluctuations and global commodity prices.

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 10,992.82 points, down by 0.18% or 19.31 points.
On Tuesday, the BIST 100 was down 0.33% at 11,012.12 points, with a daily transaction volume of 133.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.2 billion).
As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.5945 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.9950 to the euro, and 56.0835 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,863.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.25 per barrel.
