China blasted European Union "double standards" on Friday after the bloc banned Chinese firms from certain government medical device purchases in response to limits Beijing places on access to its own market.
"The EU has always boasted that it is the most open market in the world but, in reality, it has gradually moved towards protectionism... which is a typical case of double standards," foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told a regular news conference.
