North Korea said it conducted an intermediate-range strategic missile launch drill on Saturday, with leader Kim Jong Un overseeing the exercise, state media KCNA reported on Sunday.
KCNA said the missile hit a target 1,000 km (621 miles) away in the East Sea and that the drill was aimed at testing and training forces operating a hypersonic strategic weapon system.
