Three children were killed in central Syria after an Assad regime-era landmine exploded in Homs province, according to the SANA news agency on Monday.

The outlet said the explosion occurred when a landmine dating back to the period of former President Bashar al-Assad's rule was detonated in the province.

The blast killed three children who were herding sheep in the area, the agency said.
