Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed by phone on Tuesday preparations for a summit on Friday between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
In a statement posted on Telegram, Russia's Foreign Ministry said the two sides had reaffirmed their intention to hold successful talks.
The two leaders are expected to discuss a possible peace deal in Ukraine.
