Minister Fidan meets with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

Foreign Minister Fidan is continuing his Palestine-focused diplomatic efforts in Egypt. As part of his visit, Fidan was received by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in El Alamein. During the closed-door meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, regional and global developments, and the situation in Gaza. Following this, Fidan met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty in El Alamein. The ministers first held a one-on-one meeting and then a meeting with their delegations. After the meetings, Minister Fidan and Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty held a joint press conference. In the conference, Minister Fidan stated:

"We are visiting Egypt during a very critical period for our region. I thank my esteemed colleague for the warm hospitality he has shown during this visit. My visit began this morning with a reception by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Under the leadership of Presidents Erdoğan and Sisi, Türkiye-Egypt relations have advanced to a high level. This leadership has brought our strategies for regional issues closer and enabled us to act together. We are in cooperation to advance our 100-year-old diplomacy with a shared vision. While our economic and commercial relations with Egypt continue, this volume has reached 9 billion dollars. Our goal is to reach 15 billion dollars."

"We reject Israel's plan to occupy Gaza. As Türkiye and Egypt, we stand against Israel's scenarios. We will defend international law and humanitarian values in the strongest way possible against Israel's genocidal policies. Palestine belongs to the Palestinians. The delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza is of vital importance. We have sent approximately 102,000 tons of humanitarian aid to our brothers and sisters in Gaza to date. We thank Egypt for their close cooperation in our joint efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza."
