President Donald Trump described his meeting Tuesday with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney as "very great" and played down tensions over his tariffs and repeated calls for Canada to become a US state.
"We had a very great meeting," Trump said at a press conference ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which the United States will co-host with Canada and Mexico. "No tension, we want to do what's right for our respective peoples."
