The Israeli army is issuing call-up orders for tens of thousands of reservists ahead of a planned expansion of its offensive against Hamas in Gaza, Israeli media reported.
The reservists will be sent to replace conscripts and active-duty soldiers in Israel and the occupied West Bank so that they can be redeployed to Gaza, news outlets reported. A military spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied the reports, but relatives of AFP journalists were among those who received mobilisation orders.
