Zelensky says Russian advance 'halted', Ukraine situation 'much better'

On Monday, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian advances in Ukraine had been "stopped" and the situation for his troops was now "considerably improved" compared to the past three months.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that Russian advances had been "halted" in Ukraine and the situation was now "much better" for his troops than over the past three months.

Zelensky also told French broadcaster BFM TV that Ukraine was building "over 1,000 kilometres (621 miles)" of fortifications.
