Turkish stock exchange begins midweek up

Türkiye’s benchmark BIST 100 index opened Wednesday at 10,927.76, up 0.13%, while the Turkish lira traded at 42.12 against the US dollar and gold hovered near $3,966 an ounce.

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 10,927.76, up 0.13% or 13.67 points.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 was down 1.12% to 10,914.10 points, with a daily transaction volume of 141 billion Turkish liras ($3.35 billion).

As of 10.10 am local time (0720GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.1150 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 48.4200 to the euro, and 54.8970 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,965.95, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64.3 per barrel.
