Qatar said Thursday that its armed forces intercepted a missile targeting the Gulf country, amid escalating attacks between the United States and Iran.
The Qatari Defense Ministry said the missile was successfully shot down but provided no information on casualties or damage.
The incident comes as US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, launched Feb. 28, have killed about 1,300 people and injured more than 10,000.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
