A 5.9 magnitude earthquake jolted northeastern India on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The quake with a depth of 10 kilometers (6 miles) struck Udalguri district in the state of Assam.

Tremors were also in felt in Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh, users on social media said.

There were no immediate reports of damages to life or infrastructure.
