Since October 7, 2023, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have clearly communicated the situation in Gaza to their counterparts in international forums and bilateral talks. Their efforts have influenced many countries to express their intention to recognize Palestine and support a two-state solution.
Currently, 150 countries recognize Palestine. The UK, France, Canada, Malta, New Zealand, Portugal, and Austria have expressed their intention to recognize Palestine. It is expected that Türkiye may convene with countries leaning toward recognizing Palestine at the UN General Assembly.
