In small workshops in the Binh Chanh district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, workers shape incense sticks made from bamboo, agarwood, cinnamon, and aromatic plant powders using machines, dry them in the sun, and hand-package them.
This traditionally sustained production not only meets domestic demand but also generates nearly $23 million annually in exports to countries like Malaysia, India, China, and the U.S., making Vietnam the world's fourth-largest incense exporter.
