According to the Dhaka Tribune, the F-7 type aircraft went down in the Uttara area of Dhaka. Fire department officials confirmed that search and rescue operations have been completed at the crash site.
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Bangladesh Army reported that 20 people lost their lives and 171 were injured in the incident.
The statement noted that the aircraft had taken off as part of a routine training exercise and that the crash was caused by a "technical malfunction." Authorities announced that further details would be shared upon completion of the investigation.
