A fire burned this Saturday morning an industrial warehouse of the Schara meat company in Mercabarna, in the Barcelona Free Zone.
The fire is spectacular and its column of black smoke can be seen from different points of the city. However, "no person has been injured," says the Guàrdia Urbana (GUB), which preventively evacuated four people from nearby warehouses.
The Generalitat Fire Brigade works at the site with 19 ground crews after receiving the fire notice at 5:18 p.m. At that time there was no worker inside.
Due to the dimensions of the warehouse, the emergency services "will take time to completely extinguish the fire," sources from the City Council specify.
