According to the peace treaty signed between Israel and Jordan on October 26, 1994, Al-Aqsa Mosque is under the custodianship of the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Administration, which is affiliated with Jordan's Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places.
However, since 2003, Jewish groups have been entering the holy site accompanied by Israeli police without the permission of the Islamic Waqf, following Israel's unilateral decision.
