At least 10 people have been killed in Israeli military attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources. Among them was a 5-year-old child, Alaa Qaddom, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Friday. At least 55 people were injured.
The Israeli military attacked several targets in the coastal strip.
An Islamic Jihad member told Al-Jazeera that Taysir al-Jabari, commander of the northern region of Saraya al-Quds, was killed during the raids.
On Monday, PIJ leader Bassem Saadi was arrested in the West Bank town of Jenin during an Israeli operation.
As for Hamas, it reacted by affirming that "the resistance with all its military arms and factions are united in this battle and will say its word with full force."
