Turkish soldiers on duty 24 hours a day in earthquake zone

In the provinces affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, Turkish soldiers, 'Mehmetçik' provides general security at night, and serves in many areas from search and rescue works and the setting up of tents to helping citizens during the day. 39 battalions of soldiers deployed in the region where the demolitions took place are taking the necessary security measures. Mehmetçik works to ensure general security and public order in the earthquake area at night. Taking precautions on the streets, the soldiers also take precautions to prevent theft from evacuated, slightly damaged or undamaged buildings. Supporting the safe and coordinated work carried out in the earthquake zone during the daytime, the Turkish military gives trust to the public in the Iskenderun district of Hatay, which is one of the provinces most damaged by the earthquake. Mehmetçik also supports the work of many non-governmental organizations, especially AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent.
