Meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Erdoğan highlighted the importance of preserving Syria's unity and solidarity as well as the SDF fulfilling its deal with Damascus made on March 10.
Erdoğan said that Ankara's support to Damascus will continue and called President Ahmad al-Sharaa's attendance at this year's UN General Assembly "historically significant."
Erdoğan also stated that efforts are being made to develop bilateral relations. Türkiye is also following steps to bring together different groups in Syria, he said.
In a seperate meeting on Monday, Erdoğan held talks with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha.
The meeting covered bilateral relations between Türkiye and Qatar, as well as regional and global issues, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Communications Directorate on its official account on the US social media company X.
President Erdoğan said Israel's attack on Qatar is unacceptable and that Ankara stands alongside Qatar.
He emphasized that Israel's attack aims to undermine peace negotiations, that continuing negotiations under any circumstances would be beneficial, and that Türkiye will continue to support mediation efforts.
President Erdoğan also noted that Türkiye-Qatar relations will be developed in all areas, especially in the defense industry and security.
