The Turkish Armed Forces, with increasing intensity and determination, continue their fight against terrorism by aiming to eliminate it at its source.
As of January 1st, within the scope of the Counter-Terrorism Operation, including the northern regions of Iraq and Syria, they have neutralized 892 terrorists, with 44 of them being eliminated in the past week alone. Since July 24th, 2015, a total of 38,235 terrorists have been neutralized.
Deniz Albay Zeki Aktürk, the Press and Public Relations Advisor to the Ministry of National Defense, shared the following information:
In the past week, 193 individuals attempting to cross our borders illegally have been apprehended. Among them, 20 are terrorists, and 15 are members of the FETÖ terrorist organization.
2,900 individuals were prevented from crossing the borders illegally. Thus, the total number of those apprehended while attempting to cross the borders illegally since the beginning of the year has reached 4,258, with 216 of them being members of the FETÖ and 326 being terrorists.
The number of individuals prevented from crossing the borders has reached 128,812.
