Vecihi Hürkuş, Türkiye's first chief pilot and a trailblazer in Turkish aviation, passed away exactly 56 years ago. His remarkable journey spanned from the Yeşilköy Flight School to the Caucasus Front, and from Azerbaijan's Nargin Island in the Caspian Sea to the world of aircraft engineering.
