After the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş, which are described as the "disaster of the century", the asphalt road, where crevices formed in the Aşağı İçme Mahallesi in the Ekinözü district of Kahramanmaraş, swelled for meters, and the trees were uprooted.
Ekinözü district was among the places affected by the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes that occurred in Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş on February 6.
Right after the earthquake, 11 citizens were rescued from the debris of 12 buildings destroyed in Ekinözü district. It was also reported that 2 people lost their lives in the earthquake in the district.
The earthquakes also caused damage in some neighborhoods of the district. In the Aşağı İçme Neighborhood, which is close to the district center, workplaces, some hotels and the bath collapsed.
In the neighborhood where some houses were destroyed, large pieces of rock that broke off the mountain fell on the road due to the fault rupture.
In the Kırkgöz location of the region where the asphalt was broken down, the asphalt road by the stream swelled for meters.
Trees rose from their roots in the region where the creek bed also swelled due to the earthquake. The surrounding workplace and electrical transformer were destroyed.
