The Suleymaniye Mosque in the center of Rhodes, one of the Ottomans' first major architectural works on the island, draws attention with its design and courtyard but remains closed to visitors and worshippers, saddening especially Turkish visitors.
Built in honor of Ottoman Grand Vizier Pargalı İbrahim Pasha, the İbrahim Pasha Mosque is the only mosque on the island where Muslims can worship.
Constructed by order of Sultan Suleiman, the Suleymaniye Mosque is opened only for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha prayers.
