Mawlid al-Nabi, observed on the 12th day of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal according to the Islamic lunar calendar, has been celebrated for centuries as a manifestation of the love for the Prophet Muhammad in Islamic societies due to his presentation of the world.
During the times of the Ottoman, Mamluk, Ayyubid, and Fatimid states, in addition to the official celebrations of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, literary works that dealt with the love for the Prophet were composed in Turkish and Arabic literature.
