A 6 magnitude earthquake jolted the Volcano Islands, Japan, on Monday, without causing any losses, the German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The earthquake occurred at 0355 GMT in the North Pacific Ocean at a shallow depth of 20 kilometers (12 miles), some 283 km (176 mi) from the Northern Mariana Islands.
The epicenter was initially determined to be at 23.12 degrees north latitude and 144.30 degrees east longitude.
