A shallow magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck 71 km off the coast of Puerto Madero, Mexico, on Friday at a depth of 10 km, the USGS reports. The powerful tremor triggered a localized tsunami warning and was felt strongly across Guatemala and El Salvador.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.4 struck Puerto Madero in Mexico on Friday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
