A student attacked a security guard and a 10-year-old pupil at an educational institution in the Moscow region with a knife on Tuesday, killing the child, authorities said.
Investigators said the attack took place in the Gorki-2 settlement. The authorities have launched a murder investigation.
Police said the suspect has been detained.
An emergency call was received at around 9 am (0600 GMT).
