Russia remains an important supplier of energy to India although there could be a temporary decrease in the volume of oil trade, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Indian journalists on Tuesday.
Trade mechanisms that cannot be affected by third countries needed to be arranged, he said at an online media conference, days before President Vladimir Putin is due to visit India for summit talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
